Sunday Salon

Each month one artist/creative will have the opportunity to present a work-in-progress idea, and gain feedback and interest from the group* - the idea can be of any creative discipline and the 30-minute session can include speaking, performing, presenting, or any other forms of sharing that can be accommodated in an enclosed space.

Format

5-6pm: Open time to talk; light refreshments will be served

6-6:30pm: Presenting Artist shares their work; group offers feedback

6:30-7pm: Group can decide to continue the conversation around the project; or resume open time to talk with fellow attendees

*If you wish to be a presenting artist, please email emilyarden[at]emilyardendesign[dot]com with 1) a brief description of your idea; 2) any plans you have to bring your idea into the world (if you're that far along); 3) links to social media and/or website.

Location

Private residence in Oakland's Grand Lake neighborhood. Address will be emailed once you've RSVP'd.

Capacity is limited due to venue size, and also as a way to promote connection amongst attendees.

Your ticket allows us to continue to offer this monthly gathering, with 50% going to the presenting artist.

About Emily Arden

Emily is a Manager of Public Programs + Festivals at the Oakland Museum of California, and previously served as Associate Producer at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. She formerly co-founded and directed a community art space in the Washington, DC area that transformed un-leased commercial properties into hubs of creativity. She is inspired by the organic building of ideas and collaborations that stem from these types of informal gatherings.
